The COST of the SPECIAL
CONTAINERS for Hazardous Materials / Dangerous Goods AND PACKAGING COSTS to ship Hazardous
Materials / Dangerous Goods are included in the cost of the chemicals from
American Gold / SMC.
These PACKAGING costs can run an additional $15 per chemical, to meet the
US D.O.T. Shipping Standards for Hazardous Materials / Dangerous Goods.
The labor to do the packaging runs about $10 per chemical!
In addition to packaging costs there is the cost of Certification of staff members.
American Gold pays for the
proper packaging and training as a part of our prices.

UPS uses the term
"HAZARDOUS MATERIALS."
Federal Express uses the term
"DANGEROUS GOODS."
UPS GROUND SHIPMENTS
As of January 2010 All UPS
GROUND Hazardous
Materials SHIPPING FEES are $25 PER BOX.
Regulations specify,
containers of DANGEROUS GOODS, can not be taped together.
UPS AIR SHIPMENTS - 50 US STATES
ONLY
As of January 2010 UPS
AIR Hazardous
Materials SHIPPING FEES is MORE PER BOX.
Please Note. UPS will not
accept Hazardous Materials we ship for delivery outside of the US.
UPS currently requires shippers of Hazardous
Materials to sign CONTRACTS.
Part of the CONTRACT requires
shippers to comply with appropriate training.
Further, the company has added
responsibility to ship packages properly packaged.
We expect other carriers to
follow the lead of UPS soon.
